The 2025 Course Programme

From the Foot up and Beyond – Yoga for all with Natalie Preston
18 Oct - 25 Oct 2025

The Retreat Itself

Join Natalie for a delightfully balanced week of movement, meditation, delicious nutritious food, fun and deep rest.
The recently upgraded Huzur Vadisi is the idyllic secluded natural sanctuary to retreat from the over stimulus of life and stock up on the gentle sun before the winter.
The rhythm of each typical day starts quietly, aiming to reduce the mental clutter which leads into the morning meditation. This is followed by a progressive movement /asana practice that aims to gently open, energise, strengthen and invigorate.
The late afternoon practice is usually more restorative / yin / pranayama / nidra orientated and closes with meditation .

Between classes

A yoga retreat is a perfect opportunity to relax and do less, and this venue offers the ideal facilities to do so with its new pool , outdoor seating , fire pit and sauna.
For those who enjoy gentle hiking there are walking tracks leading directly from the venue’s boundaries
Massage will be offered from a quality local practitioner in one of the 2 new massage rooms, and Natalie will offer reflexology
On the free day there is the option to take the renowned boat trip that travels around the turquoise bays and islands of Gocek, served with a fish or vegetarian lunch on board. Alternatively other trips eg : shopping or to beaches can be arranged .

Yoga with Natalie

Natalie’s approach is shaped by a growing spectrum of knowledge, absorbed from various traditions; Traditional Hatha yoga, Iyengar , lineages from Vanda Scaravelli and fortified with myofascial anatomy .
Natalie’s classes are suitable for all, and in fact she has a big following of individuals who never thought they would ever step on the mat! She is respected for her authentic care and skilled support that she offers, allowing breakthroughs and progress for all.
Understanding that the premise of yoga is ‘ liberation ‘ her approach explores ways to ‘ free up ‘ without force. Quoting from Vanda Scaravelli ‘ to work with the body and not against’. The classes are varied and exploratory, seemingly gentle at first and potentially challenging. She invites you to be sensitive and curious whilst she guides carefully nuanced practices that leave you standing, moving, breathing, and feeling better.

The simple grounded mindfulness meditations aim to cultivate serenity, focus and wisdom.

About Natalie

Natalie was propelled into a life change in the 90’s after spending time in an ashram in India. This led to further extensive periods of time over many years in India, mainly on retreat practising Hatha Yoga and Vipassana meditation. She was struck by how the power of these methods can awaken us; dissolve held baggage from the past, and make us feel really great!
She is grateful for the immersion offered by her original Sivananda training, and the sparkly pointers to the ‘Aliveness of Now’ offered by the teachings of Clive Sheriden whom she has retreated with extensively internationally.
Her scoliotic spine led her to Iyengar Yoga in order to learn useful ways to work with her body, and she trained with senior/advanced teachers within that school for 25 years. Since completing the Myofascial Movement Course in 2019 with Gary Carter (one of the leading experts in myofascial research) she continues to receive further innumerable hours of training under his mentorship and receiving research fresh from the lab.
She is also qualified to teach mindfulness meditation, taught by Christopher Titmuss and his daughter Nishorma.
This year she is celebrating 25 years of teaching yoga and continues to teach both group, private and corporate sessions in SW London.
