Huzur Vadisi established in 1993, was the first centre of its kind in Turkey. In a secluded mountain valley, surrounded by pine forest, the accommodation nestles amid olive and fig groves. It is an oasis of peace in natural surroundings. At night the valley is dark, revealing all the beauty of the night sky. At full moon it is truly magical to see the forest and valley bathed in moonlight. Huzur Vadisi’s setting brings a deep connection with the natural world that immeasurably enhances the benefits of yoga practice.
Yoga
The retreat includes six, 1.5 hr morning classes and four, 1 hour afternoon classes with two afternoons off. This may be subject to change pending the excursion day. Therefore 5 days of yoga morning and afternoon with one day solely for the excursion.
Gerry began the practice and study of yoga as a teenager. He first qualified and taught as an Iyengar Teacher in 1995, and latterly studied and also taught Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. He was fortunate to have studied both with BKS Iyengar and Shri. K. Pattabhi Jois.
Gerry has developed his own style known for his unique sequencing that focuses on precision and alignment integrated with a steady asana flow. His emphasis being that the Yoga practice should feel and be therapeutic.
He currently co directs balance in Glasgow and conducts workshops and retreats around the United Kingdom and internationally. He is also founder and principal to the balance yoga teacher training course.

What is included in the price:
- 7-nights accommodation
- Breakfast & dinner, unlimited fruit, water, teas and coffee. Ingredients for ‘help yourself’ light lunches are provided in the guest kitchen, you can also make yourself a packed lunch if required.

Places are offered on a first come first serve basis. A payment of £250 non refundable deposit is required to secure a place, and accommodation preference. The remaining balance is due by Friday 01st February 2026.
All participants please ensure that you have travel insurance. It is a condition of booking, that you take out travel insurance to cover cancellation and other eventualities.
If cancellation is made once booked prior to the start of the retreat, a full refund (less £250 non refundable) can be issued if a replacement student can be found. Once the retreat has begun no refunds or credits will be issued. Refunds (less non-refundable payment) can only be given if a replacement student can be found.
